You are called like the apostles to make God known to others.”
St. John Baptist De La Salle, Med 78.2 – feast of St. Andrew, apostle

Dunrovin’s first Servant Leader Team has arrived to do the Lord’s work! Five young adults from across the country have started their journey to spread their faith to the youth. These first few weeks will be slow as they train, but they will soon have people to evangelize.
James Fischer comes from Tallahassee, Florida, although originally from Minnesota. He is the oldest of six and part of a strong Catholic family. Throughout middle and high school, James traveled to Dunrovin to be part of a huge summer camp called BLAST, sponsored by the Community of Christ the Redeemer. James brings his talent for music and love of God to these coming months at Dunrovin. As a natural servant, James has energy to share with anyone who needs to make a connection.

Josiah Heintzman grew up in West Saint Paul, Minnesota. He is the oldest of seven and comes to Dunrovin well prepared to be a Servant Leader. Josiah spent a year traveling as a NET missionary, obtained his Eagle Scout, and met James Fischer (see above) all those years on BLAST at Dunrovin. Being a Servant Leader is not his first experience with Dunrovin LEAD. He has also been a Teen Leader in our intensive summer leadership program. Josiah considers Dunrovin a spiritual home ever since the fifth grade.
Maggie Dunst comes from Eagan, Minnesota. She is the oldest of four and was raised in the Catholic faith. Joining the Servant Leaders Team will help Maggie build skills to connect with others — an important step for her goal of becoming a counselor. The decision to go to college came too soon for Maggie, and Dunrovin’s gap year was a way to consider a career and grow closer to God. This year will help expand her knowledge of the faith, how to share it with others, and learn the needs of others.
Molly Brackins lived the first seven years of her life in Hawaii before moving to northern Virginia. She is the second oldest of six children and was raised in the Catholic faith. Molly grew up in the People of Praise charismatic community. A friend she met at a NET discernment weekend introduced her to Dunrovin’s LEAD program. DLITE 2025 was Molly’s first experience as part of Dunrovin. Without going on the NET retreat, Molly may have never heard of Dunrovin and joined the Dunrovin Servant Leader mission!
Shatyra Scott grew up in Columbus, Texas. The second of three children, Shatyra converted to Catholicism at the Easter Vigil 2024. She volunteered at the youth group in her hometown before coming to Dunrovin. Shatyra desires to be a Servant Leader because of her passion for empowering others to reach their full potential. She brings her heart of service and continuously seeks opportunities to support those around her. Shatyra actively listens to everyone around her, addresses their needs, and ensures everyone has the resources to succeed.

Part of LEAD Immersion (AKA Dunrovin Servant Leaders Team), these five young adults will minister to middle and high school students on retreats, offering a safe haven and faith-filled fun. Living communally onsite at Dunrovin, they are an integral part of the staff; their leadership, time, and talent will be utilized in a multitude of ways through the coming eleven months.
Youth are the church of today!
