Founded in 2003, Camp of the Holy Family grew from a desire to provide a retreat experience to strengthen and nurture families in the Catholic faith. There is a deep hunger for God in today’s families. This retreat helps families grow closer to our Lord. Sponsored by Dunrovin, Christian Brothers Retreat Center, the Camp is an offspring of Camp Jesus, a Catholic family and youth camp located in Wisconsin and founded by Deacon Michael and Annette Cullen. The first Camp Jesus was held in North Dublin, Ireland, in 1977. Faith-enriching opportunities are offered in separate tracks for children, teenagers, and adults. Each day your family will soak in God’s grace as you listen to inspired teachings and move through exciting, family-building activities. There is something for every member of the family. Priests and deacons will be available throughout the week to care for you. A small Eucharistic chapel is available for personal prayer at all times. An important way for your family to care for one another is through service. By helping each another, we also experience community. Please plan to be generous when signing up for volunteer duties to help in the kitchen, with activities, and cleaning up. However, we don’t just pray and work. Strong families enjoy playing together! Come with tennis shoes on, ready to join in fun games, swimming, softball, ping-pong, canoeing, and more. Every attempt is made to make Camp of the Holy Family affordable for all who want to attend. We ask that those with an ability to pay be generous so that families with fewer resources might also attend. Costs are outlined in the brochure. Scholarships are available. |
