Experience summer camp at our open house

San Miguel students at Open House
The San Miguel students talk about their faith, dreams, and time at Dunrovin summer camp.

If you have ever attended the Sunset Dinner Cruise or donated to Dunrovin, you know youth programs are a main focus.

We raise funds year around to support our youth ministry. But most people do not have the chance to see Dunrovin youth programs first hand.

That has changed.

For the second year, Dunrovin is opening its doors for you and your friends to see our summer youth programs in action. Those who attend our camper experience open house will get a chance to talk with youth and staff while enjoying the beauty of nature and a tasty meal.

Campers tell their stories

This event, like last year, will give you an inside look at how we touch the lives of young adults. Camp will be in session while you are here. Inner-city middle school students from Chicago will be enjoying the Dunrovin summer camp experience. And you can also observe high school students in the DLITE  leadership program serving as camp counselors.

You will get to meet and talk with participants of both programs.

They will tell you inspiring stories about their adventures and personal growth at summer camp. Last year guests laughed at tales of learning to swim for the first time, and wiped away tears as campers told about their hopes for a better future.

Here are some testimonials from last year:

This year promises more of the same: testimonials about how God has touched their lives through Dunrovin youth programs.

Dunrovin Retreat Center sits on 52 wooded acres on the St. Croix River. As part of the camper experience open house, you also get a tour of our grounds.

Bridge over stream
Tour the scenic grounds.

Walk through wooded paths over bridges with spring-fed streams running underneath. See the scenic St. Croix River surrounded by wildlife. Then wander inside to see our cozy lounge, huge conference room, and chapel with stained-glass windows.

When you see Dunrovin’s grounds and facilities you better understand how the beauty of God’s creation brings peace and adventure to retreat-goers and campers.

Eat like a camper

After the tour, you get a dinner served by the Dunrovin kitchen staff. Home-made and fresh, this food has been applauded by guests for many years. Hospitality and warmth are important to us. We hope this will remind you of home as we welcome you to the Dunrovin family.

If you have dietary concerns or questions about the meal, feel free to contact us before the evening. We will do our best to accommodate  your needs.

Mark your calendar

Two Tuesday evenings will be open for you to attend the camp experience open house this summer: June 10 and 24. You may call ahead to indicate your interest, but RSVP is not necessary. For more information, email us at dunrovin@dunrovin.org or call us at (651) 433-2486.
