From the Twin Cities, Hwy. 494/694:

  • Take Hwy 36 East to Hwy. 95 North, through downtown Stillwater.
  • Main Street in Stillwater is Hwy. 95 and becomes St. Croix Trail, heading north.
  • Go through downtown Stillwater and go north about 10 miles, to the blue "Dunrovin Retreat Center" sign on the right.
  • Take the right turn lane and go to the large parking lot.

From Northeast Minnesota:

  • Take Hwy. 35 south.
  • Take Hwy 97 east (second Forest Lake exit), which makes a jog north at Hwy 61 and then east again at the stoplight.
  • Follow 97 east until it Ts at Hwy. 95.  Turn right, or south.
  • Follow 95 south 8 miles
  • Two miles south of Marine is a small blue highway sign, "Dunrovin Retreat Center."
  • Turn left and go to the large parking lot.

To avoid downtown Stillwater (may be congested, especially Friday evenings and weekends in summer):

  • Take Hwy 36 east to the County 15 (Manning Ave.) stop LIGHT. Turn left.
  • Go north to the SECOND stop SIGN, Hwy. 96. Turn right.
  • Go east until the road "T"s at Highway 95, 3 miles. Turn left.
  • Go north on Hwy. 95 for 8 miles, to the blue "Dunrovin Retreat Center" sign on the right.

Tips:

  • Street address is 15525 St. Croix Trail North, so you can watch street signs and mailboxes for numbers.
  • There's a brown and yellow "Christian Brothers Retreat Center" sign just off the road at the entrance.
  • The main parking lot is on your right after the pole shed and white cottage.
  • The entrance is down the long sidewalk along the pond side of the building.
  • Beware! Directions from internet mapping and direction sites are often poor - people get lost at Square Lake.
